Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has pointed out the disparity in treatment of injured pace bowlers Naseem Shah and Ihsanullah.

The 20-year-old Naseem Shah successfully underwent surgery on his injured shoulder in London on Wednesday.

The injury had ruled out the right-armer from the ICC World Cup 2023, which begins tomorrow in India. Shah has been advised rest of four to six weeks and will start bowling after completing his rehab.

On the other hand, pacer Ihsanullah underwent surgery on his right elbow last month in Lahore and is likely to stay out of action for the next four to five months.

Meanwhile, ex-Pakistan wicketkeeper Rashid Latif shared a photo of the two and compared how Naseem had surgery outside Pakistan while Ihsanullah's surgery took place in Pakistan.

"Treatment: One home, one away...?" Rashid wrote on X (formerly Twitter) emphasising the way of treating certain players.

It must be noted despite the injury, Ihsanullah continued to do weight training which led to a fracture.

The surgery was advised by doctors in England after going through Ihsanullah’s reports but PCB opted to do his surgery from Lahore. Ihsanullah has started his rehabilitation programme.

The pacer is unlikely to feature in the Test series against Australia towards the end of 2023 and the Pakistan Super League (PSL) next year.

The 20-year-old has played one ODI and four T20Is over the course of his brief career for the Pakistan cricket team, so far. He made his debut in the limited-overs format earlier this year.

This is how PCB in the past has destroyed future crickets assests n will carry on doing it with very poor administrative systems..Double standard n lack of understanding the real ability of Talented individuals

I think it is the nature of injury. Doctors in Pakistan are as good as anywhere in the world. So RL comment in this regard is a bit harsh
